“Private Label” E-Commerce Site

Posted in Current Projects, Industry Innovation on May 23rd, 2008 by admin – 1 Comment

Nuleaf Media received the go ahead to start 2 new sites for CorVirtus, Inc. We redesigned their Hiring Tracker application recently, and now are moving into a complex e-commerce solution that will allow them to create a number of ‘private label’ stores. The private label stores will have a completely different look and feel, pull products from a centralized database, and allow each micro site to set their own pricing and product selection.

Finetune Desktop

A description of Finetune from their website:

What is it you’d say we do here?

* Type an artist’s name, we create a playlist of related songs for you to listen to.
* Create your own playlist! You hand pick each song or let us auto-complete with our recommendation technology.
* Explore the finetune community – browse artists, users, playlists and more.
* Listen to professionally managed playlists spanning todays most popular terrestrial radio formats.
* Embed your playlist in your blog or MySpace page.

The desktop version of their service was developed using Adobe Air and it’s a slick and quick interface that allows for easy access to all kinds of music that you can listen to, share and buy. It also integrates with your iTunes playlist, and pulls artists into your interests based on your music library.

I’ve been listening to the service for a good 12 hours now, and it’s a great commercial free way to learn about and listen to music! Try it out > Finetune Desktop

Quickbase and TomTom Integration

One of the projects I’m working on is a web application that will be revealed at the 2008 San Fransisco Web 2.0 Expo on April 22nd. This project is the first Adobe Flex web applications to integrate QuickBooks, QuickBase, Google Maps, and the TomTom GPS device.

The web application will allow users to integrate their QuickBooks contacts with planning and mapping utilities in order to create daily and weekly driving Itineraries that are published to a TomTom GPS device.

The application is being built using Adobe Flex Builder 3 and a brand new QuickBase/Flex API provided by Intuit (the creators of QuickBooks and QuickBase).

The conference is one of many industry big events, sponsors for the show (include some Nuleaf Media clients as well) include: IBM, Microsoft, Adobe, Nokia, AOL, Citrix, Disney, Effective UI, Intuit QuickBase, Oracle, SalesForce, Sun, Yahoo!, Intel, Juniper Networks, Wired Magazine.

This is the first of two applications we are building in Adobe Flex and QuickBase to be presented at the tradeshow.
